IN-SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Think about it!

ANIMAL SKELETONS-Grades K-6 Bone for bone we are the same as all the other animals on the Earth. Students compare different animal skeletons. Look closely at animal skull and teeth to determine what the animal eats. Put together a complete deer skeleton.

ANIMAL ADAPTATIONS-Grades 2-6 Every animal has special "tools" that help it survive. Students will observe taxidermy animals to discover their adaptations. The will learn how owl's soft feathers help it to fly silently and how the star-nose mole uses its nose to locate worms.

BIRDS-Grades K-6 Why is bird different from other animals? Take a close look at the amazing adaptations of birds. Students participate in activities of bird identification and locations.

FOOD WEB-Grades 3-5 All things in life are interrelated. Students represent either a plant or an animal and are then physically tied in food chains that are connected to the sun. Students participate in a play about their food web.

GEOLOGY-ROOTED IN ROCKS-Grades 3-6 Students will discover how they are "rooted in rocks" and why rocks are an important part of their lives. They will perform a play about the Living Earth, become historical geologists and find out about the cycle of rocks.

LENAPE GAMES AND NATIVE AMERICAN STORY TELLING-Grades 2-6 Native Americans were game players and toy makers. Students will play games of skill and games of chance. They will make up a game using natural objects, listen to a Native American story, relate a story of their own using pictographs.

The cost of one program is $50.00. Mileage will be charged beyond a 10 mile radius of Peace Valley Nature Center.
